I thought it might be an idea to post a map so we have some idea of where things are in relation to everything else, mainly the gate!
I'm thinking the stargate is on the bottom edge of Fangorn Forest, the Dwarven rings are in the Lonely Mountain or thereabouts, and Aragorn has gone somewhere to the West of the Misty Mountains - maybe Enedwaith? That way the group who go to get the sword will be nearer the gate than the others, therefore able to go to Valinor as planned!
