Name: Lin Ordon
Age: 23
Sex: Female
---Specific---
Appearance: Lin is small, but strong. She is only about five foot four, but that has never actually been made official. Muscles are clearly defined on her arms, chest and legs, although she is far from bulky. Lin is slender, and not a bodybuilder. She is, rather simply, a fighter. Lin has long, curly brown hair and brown eyes, and is very pretty. She rarely wears a dress, however, as she prefers a loose tunic and leggings to anything more feminine. If Lin cut her hair then she could most likely pass for a boy- she has no distinguishing feminine features of any sort. Lin is very small, and likes to run. There is no excess fat on her body anywhere. That is partly because she exercises a lot, and partly because she is too proud to accept menial tasks, and that means that she goes hungry often. The only sort of decoration that Lin wears apart from her simple outfits is a small golden ring given to her by her father. When fighting, LIn wears mostly black leather, but she does put on a mail shirt. She owns a small
Personality: Lin would like to be a fighter. She pretends to be rough and tough, but truly scorns women's jobs. She hates the thought of any woman being chained up to do cooking, or cleaning, or any other menial task like that. A strong feminist, Lin has argued with many people over this matter-mainly her mother. Lin is usually alone, although she never begrudges company. Most of her life she has gone against her parents and her siblings, so she is used to being alone. Lin doesn't brag, but she does take pride in what she does.
Lin likes to keep her (imaginary) reputation squeaky clean, which means that she can't act nice. Lin keeps herself cool at all times. If she talks, her voice is never raised, although her words may be harsh. Lin is a great storyteller as well, and she is a good rider and a fast runner. Some of Lin's pet peeves include: people who can't wake up in the mornings, people who whine, people who complain, useless people, and people who can't shut up. Lin has never actually been in battle, but she acts incredibly sure of herself, as if she had lived through Sauron's first uprising. She has never fought anyone better than her father, which is saying quite a lot: her father was getting old at the time he was teaching her, and wasn't in very good shape. She could be beat by anyone, but she thinks she is invincible and disregards danger entirely.
Lin is a bit sharp. She doesn't care for formalities. She was born (at least) a decade or two after most every important person around, but she treats them and everyone else she deals with as if they were no more than a child. She expects everyone to answer to her, although she is by far not the oldest girl around. This is because she is deluded into thinking that she is as good as everyone else, and therefore everyone should give her equal say. Living in a city with children alround is about her worst nightmare-all the 'disobedient little pups' running about give her headaches.
Not really. She acts tough, but she really cares for every living thing. She (would fight) fights to protect them, and wouldn't leave someone behind, no matter what. Lin wants to be a warrior because she wants to be like all of the heroes in the stories. However, she actually likes to help people. She hates people who complain, though, and can't stand to be around them. Despite all of that, Lin loves everyone very much, and while she tries to be rough she sometimes slips and lets her guard down. That's when her affection comes through, and she is always embarrassed that it happened.
Job Description: Basically, Lin is more or less a wanderer. She goes from town to town, and doesn't really make much money. She claims she is a warrior, but she has never been in battle and is still incredibly young, so that claim is more than a little bit false.
---History---
Race: Human
Home World: Middle-Earth
History: When Lin was little, her mother expected her to be a 'good little girl and grow up to be someone's wife'. Needless to say, she hated that. Lin watched her three older sisters grow up to be housewives, and secretly shuddered every time she thought of it. To her, the idea was horrible. She wanted to be like the heroes in the stories her father told her. Her father noticed this, and started teaching her how to use a sword, as he was a retired soldier. Lin grew better and better at it, and her father was incredibly proud of her. However, her mother still wanted her to be a housewife. Her father urged her to do what she wanted to in life, and so, when she was nineteen, Lin ran away from home with her father's help. She moved from town to town a lot, mostly alone. She has never actually been in battle, but acts like she has. She makes little to no money, and generally has gotten along by herself since she left home.
Weaknesses: Lin's lack of a proper instructor limits her abilities when she is using a sword. She is still learning, and could be beaten by any more experienced soldier. Also, she suffered the consequences because she learned from her father: he went easy on her and never actually gave her a good, full trial. Lin is also a social failure. She is horrible with formalities and generally disregards politeness as unnecessary. She cannot grasp the idea of fashion, nor the concept of being 'ladylike'. Also, Lin incredibly cocksure of herself. She is not that good of a fighter, although she thinks she is, and that is often her downfall. She has gotten herself badly injured more than once, but still disregards danger as if it were nothing at all. Lin generally looks down on men, and hates to accept defeat.
Lin lives in a story. All her life, she wanted to become a soldier and fight, and that dream was realized, at least in part, by the fact that her father taught her how to hold a sword and how to swing it. However, he didn't teach her much more. What he did tell her, though, was that she was wonderful, and that she would never lose a battle. Lin lives like the heroes in ancient legends. She needs someone to bring her into reality, because that's not where she's living. She has had no one to bring her back down to earth, so she believes that she is good at everything she does and that she can never fail.
Strengths: Lin is a pretty good healer. Her mother taught her a bit before Lin ran away from home, and, despite how much Lin wishes it weren't true, she has actually found it rather helpful. Also, Lin is quite good with a sword considering her father taught her and that he was, at the time, middle-aged and rather fat. She also is strong, both in body and mind, and brave- if recklessly so. She is ready to follow any orders given to her, and is eager to prove her worth to anyone that will watch her.
Canon/Own character: 'Tis mine.
---OOC---
Sample Post (Not less than 150 words): Lin stepped outside. It had snowed last night, and her breath created puffs of smoke. Smiling inwardly, Lin realized that it made her look like a dragon, then this, then that. Her train of thought continued like that for a while as her boots crushed the white flakes to the ground, packing them in hard ice. Lin shivered slightly, and blew hot breath on her hands. She was cold-uncomfortably so.
LIn shivered again, and looked down at herself. She was wearing loose black pants and a thin shirt-hardly clothes for snowy weather. She couldn't see her face, but Lin imagined what it would look like: red nose, squinted brown eyes, tousled hair- not the dark-eyed beauty that Lin liked to think she was. "I am attractive." Lin whispered that several times over, almost like a mantra that she was trying to convince herself of.
"I am. Boys are just too... too... too unintelligent to notice it. That's right, right?" She was talking to herself now; there was no one else around to talk to anyways.
"Yes. That's right." Lin breathed out a cloud of smoke, and shivered. "Wind..." Lin didn't feel like finishing the sentence.
"Where is my jacket?" Lin's words sounded frozen, just like the rest of the air around them. The girl thought back to the day's events as the evening air bit at her nose. Eventually, after a bit of thinking, Lin realized that she had left it back at the inn. The girl shrugged, and kept on walking towards the outside of town. She wasn't leaving- a good warrior was never dishonest- but she was going to walk around and see what she could see. After all, she was in a new place, and there were new adventures around ever corner.
At least, that was what all the stories said, wasn't it?
